Rentz
Rentz is a Mayberry. It is a small town, with small town values.
Yes, it is within 15 miles of downtown Dublin. I am familiar with the town and know many of the people who live there. It is within 10 minutes of the intersection of Interstate 16 and US Hwy 441. This interchange is the halfway point between Atlanta and Savannah (two hours to each). Although Rentz is small, with 1600 people in the ZIP code, this proximity to the interstate system and to Dublin offer quite a few conveniences.
Rentz has a grocery store, 2 gas stations, one full-service auto garage, a car wash, a television repair shop, a gift store, a cabinet manufacturer, a telecommunications provider, a church, a middle school, and 2 restaurants. Surprising for its size.
Land is still relatively cheap there, especially in comparison to Florida and the Northeast and the metro areas nationwide. The land is on the coastal plain and relatively flat with plenty of trees, so that farming of acreage for crop production, pasture land, or timberland is common. There are a several farmers who raise cattle and a couple of horse breeders. The local breeder of Arabians recently won the Southeast regional top honors.
There are a few families who have relocated there from Ohio, Michigan, and Florida. There is also the occasional Brit, German, and Canadian living there. Possibly a few others. I think a Honduran family also.
There is some new housing stock available. I would guess that a new home with 1700-1900 sq ft with a 1-acre lot should be between $175,000-$190,000.
