Just a question, if you are seeking an "alpharetta like town" why not just move to Alpharetta?

Unless your job is in Cumming that would be the only reason to pick it over Alpharetta.

South Forsyth has excellent schools and is actually a part of Alpharetta. It is growing quite a bit and there are many restaurants and shopping coming. Yes, I would pick Cumming or Alpharetta over Dawsonville.

Default Schools

I moved to Cumming from NJ, I investigated the schools through greatschools.net I choose North Forsyth for the school, and you got more home for your money a bit more north. Forsyth has lower taxes too.

I actually had a discussion about the schools earlier this week. For some reason, Forsyth County schools are not in any of the metro Atlanta school information. I'm not sure why they do not include Forsyth County, but many of the schools have received excellence awards and are really great schools.
