But that still doesn't prove your point, but it does actually prove that the area consolidated with Augusta more closely represents the actually city pop because the county is still divides Augusta and the other 2 incorporated cites which is still over 190K...... come on

There is only ONE city in Muscogee county and that is COLUMBUS! Therefore it would be stupid for Columbus and Muscogee county NOT to consolidate!!!!>

I clearly understand that but thats NOT my point........Regardless if Columbus is the only city the 189K is not the actual Pop of the proper city of Columbus but the county.... For Example if Macon pop is about 97K and Bibb county is about 160K if they consolidate it looks like Macon pop is 160k but in all actuality the proper city limits is about 97K....... but the consolidated pop would 160K....

I just found this information when Columbus Consolidated in 1971 the proper size was 42.5 sq miles with a pop of 79,611..... As for Augusta until 1996, when consolidation occurred. The city's population grew from 40,000 to 200,000........... So my point Proven Consolidation has help these to cities appear much larger, unlike Macon( 56.3 Sq Miles) and Savannah(79.1 sq Miles) which are not Consolidated represents the true size and pop of the cities which actually both are larger than the proper cities of Augusta and Columbus.
so Augusta and Columbus can both thank consolidation.

If you go by the consilodated standard, and look at the county (excluding other cities other than the primary city in the caunty) then all four are pretty close in Population. Richmond and Muscogee county balance are only seperated by a few thousand overall. Bibb county is smaller in geographic size, so is a bit behind in population of Muscogee and Richmond. Chatham has all of them beat. Chatham County has around 250,000 ppl. If Savannah and Chatham county ever consolidate, it would easily become the state's second largest city. I know they have been talking about this for years and years with no traction thus far.

Macon is developed, but it just isn't as developed than Augusta, Columbus, and Savannah. These are MY rankings of the cities #1 being the most developed:
1. Atlanta(no question!!!!)
2. Augusta
3. Columbus
4. Savannah
5. Macon
