Tell me one thing I have said that was a flat out lie or exaggeration.
I'll leave that for the people who go overboard with being a homer or basher.
We have very similar cities here with similar Demographics.
When dealing with similar towns..purposely pen pointing ONLY the negatives
in one place and comparing them against ONLY the positives in another doesnt mean anything.
Examples: Hinting how "bad" Macon has got it because of a rare fight in the Mall
lol...yet not saying the same thing for a fight in Columbus' Mall that also happened
Plenty of nice architecture, sites, etc. AND Plenty of Ghetto in all of the downtowns
lol but magically only the nice OR only the ugly is visible to certain people
when they are in certain towns.....it makes 0 sense.
I mean, at night there are plenty of middle aged and older people walkin dogs having a
nice time on Coleman Hill.....which is in beautiful part of downtown Macon with great architecure,
so it cant be too bad.
If Macon (like Columbus) didnt have a skyline, nice interstate access and a nice sized mall
we'd never hear the end of it (as we are now with the financial crisis and stores moving)
Even with all those stores leaving, I still doubt that little mall in Columbus has more stores
open than us right now.
People who are quick to tell you about how "bad" the Macon Mall is but wont tell you how nice
The Shoppes at River Crossing are.
All I'm saying is tell both sides of the story about these places instead of selling others short to
make biased points.
As much as I didnt like Columbus, I still say its a decent town with some nice areas.

LOL....I can tell someone how perfect Macon is by only mentioning things like The Shoppes, North Macon, Coleman Hill area of Downtown, South Bibb/Rutland Area..
and tell them how it would be a much better to stay than Atlanta and only mention things about Bankhead
which would be wrong and biased of me or any one to do...but I see alot of that going around on this forum when comparing these 2nd Tier cities...
its just a bunch of pen pointing some town's negatives against another positives to make biased claims about similar cities.

I have come to the conclusion that we are not allowed to have our own opinion's.... if they differ from RundownMacon's or King_9.5's. So, any experiences you or I have had, any data we have researched... well, throw it out. The next time you want to form an opinion about something...ANYTHING... just ask one of these two for it.
What a sad, boring, little world they must live in, huh? To think that everyone will (or should) think as they do.
I am officially giving a shout out to the nine and a half million people (or so) living in Georgia... If you want an opinion, get it from one of these two. Why? Because they say so, thats why. |

Nothing is wrong with people having opinions, but when you notice people severely stretching truths or just not telling the truth at all, then yes I have a problem with that.
I actually do not have a problem with you or any one simply saying Macon is crime-ridden.
If that's your opinion that's cool, and I actually believe it to be a fact.
The problem is acting like Savannah,Columbus and Augusta are not having these same problems.
Lol If we were comparing Macon to some Area in Northeast GA, I would have no problem...but to act like it's so much diff than the previously mentioned cities is just not truth.
Bulldawgfan, what type of person says that they wish the best for a place, yet they bad mouth it every chance they get?

Personal experiences do not necessarily mean that whatever you experienced happens or does not happen on the regular to everybody else.
It's the same stories about MOST towns on these forums...some unlucky person who has been in a place 6 months and had their home or vehicle burglarized multiple times and had a gun pulled on them..................only to have someone else who has been there decades reply and say nothing has happened to them ever........you see it for city after city..
Do people take into account that whatever they "experienced" might have depended on exactly where they were in the city or the poor decisions they made to go into certain areas at certain times, etc?

These were not my experiences. I do not need these things to happen to me in order for me to form an opinion about the place. Neither would anyone who has a lick of sense.
I do not care what safe neighborhood you live in... as a whole the place is less safe than all other second tier cities in Georgia. And most like-sized cities in the southeastern United States. Period. You have tried repeatedly to disprove this and have yet to succeed.

King_X why bother wasting your time going back and forth with these knuckle heads, When we have all noticed that what ever you say about Macon whether it good or bad the Hater coalition always find ways to make it even worse......Face it they are just Macon haters and we can't change that; so what you have to do is when you find someone with this type of mentality, you don't drop to their level you keep moving....It was mention by previous posters in another forum that when someone creates a decent posting/forum about the positive of a community this noticeable group always find ways to turn the entire post away from the original topic and into bashing forum..... So guess what, we know what Macon has done, what it has accomplished and what it will do in the future..... So who cares what JOHNATL or BulldawgHater has to say, its their "Opinion" which DOES NOT MATTER......... When you find a fool, you leave them acting a fool by themselves.....  |
