This is supposedly a true story about ALAPAHA.
It's thought to be an Indian name and pronounced a'LAP-ah-HAW, with "a"s short and haw rhyming with Jaw. A TV guy is supposed to have gotten on the news and pronounced it ALLY-pa-ha, with all the "a"s, short.

There is a town in south Georgia called Enigma. That's a pretty strange name.

Hehehe. This reminds me -- a month or so ago I stopped at a McDonald's drive through, and the total for my order came to $6.66. The girl at the register just stared at it and looked embarrassed but troubled, and someone else had to come to the register to finish the transaction. I guess she didn't want to ring it up.
I just thought it was funny.
