Default Blythe Island or Brantley County Opinions

We are considering purchasing in Georgia.
Are first thoughts were to buy rural, but came acrossed something that may be a wise investment on Blythe Island. This will be our first purchase here in Georgia. We have been in Brunswick for 4 months and want to stay.
Question..
1) Do we take all of our money and build our dream in a rural area (Brantley,Wayne, Nahunta,Waycross, Blackshear) or invest some of our money into a rehab in Blythe Island?
2) Which do you think will appreciate more or sell easier if we decide not to stay?
Opinions Please !

I *hear* that there will be a new middle school very near Satilla Marsh Elem. within the next 2-3 years and that Blythe Island residents will feed into it. If that's the case, Blythe Island area will have one of the most desirable school districts in the county. That paired with the huge increase in home prices in the Brunswick area, I'd say go for the renovation if you're looking for the highest return with your money.

Thank you for your reply !

Our thoughts are to put down roots here in Georgia. We want to have our space. But after looking at some of the rural areas, it appears that there isn't much demand for these areas.
Being our first investment here in Georgia, I am almost scared to sink all my loot into something that may take years to become a desireable or seeked out area.
We are still uncertain that things will work out perfectly for us as we planned. Things happen. That is what prompted us to look into something that would give us a stronger foundation to start out on.
As far as highest return on our money, I don't think that was what we were thinking (not trying to be flippers), just don't want to be foolish with our piggy bank.
I am leaning toward the renovation home (will be seeing on Saturday). Although, it is not our dream or what brought us here.
In the back of my head, I am thinking it may be the wiser thing to do.
Heart says "rural"- Head says " renovation".

LOL....my heart said "rural" also, but we wound up on a quarter of an acre lot. I just don't think there's any land left in Glynn Co. The market is hot though.

I think Waycross is really growing also. I had a high school friend with a cabin on Lake Blackshear. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
