Default New social worker moving to Walker County, GA

Hi

Looking for any info available about the social service job market from Lafayette, GA to Chattanooga, TN (just graduated with a BSW). I plan to move to the area around Dec. 2008 and would like any idea about networking or finding local jobs. I plan to move to Walker county and would prefer to work within the community in which I live. Any advice would be great. Can also be contacted at {moderator cut}: Sorry, can't post personal email addresses in the rooms. Please contact this person via private site mail to respond.

I happened to see 3 job listings for Social Workers in Walker County on the GA Dept. of Labor website last week. You should have no problem finding work here. It is a beautiful area, small town, friendly people. I am sure you will love it here. If you need any help, let me know. Good Luck!

I know this isn't Walker Co buuuut... I know some folks at the Catoosa County Dept of Family and Children's Services. They have had some recent turnovers so you might want to try there. This is in Ringgold on the main "drag".

Default Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the advice, it gives me some hope. I'll most likely be moving up there in Jan. 09 and feel better knowing that there are some job openings.
