Moving to Georgia Help.
Hello All. My wife and I are both leaving Orlando, and need help. We dont know where to live. We will be visiting the first week of Sept. We both are real estate appraisers, we also do part time videography for weddings,corporate,ect..., and both bi-lingual(spanish), so if appraising doesnt work out, one of us can get an interpreting license. We are looking at various locations to rent. We would like to keep expenses low(rent), but not live in a bad area. Areas we are looking at are: Marietta, Alpharetta, Cumming,Gainesville, Cornelia, or Clayton. Please help. Not too far from mountains, but not too far from Corporate work, Restaurants. Thanks. I will be watching out for your comments.

Check out Mableton. It's only about 10 miles from Atlanta, affordable, and convenient to everything, also Smyrna would be good. Cobb County is a good county to live in.

I would check out Gwinnett County. There are lots of nice places to live there and for the most part i dont think it's as expensive as Alpharetta.

Scratch off clayton. consider powder springs, peachtree city, douglasville, mabelton.
South of altanta and clayton are nice, but you're dealing with national traffic going to florida and not just the local smacktards on the interstate.

You meant Clayton, GA/city--correct? There is a county in the metro area named 'Clayton' and it has some economic challenges at present. Since you named other NO GA cities I assumed it was Clayton, GA.
I visited Clayton and it is a picturesque town--popular with retirees--great location for those who love the mountains. I was only there 2 days--I don't think this is the best place for you and your business. I encountered a significant amount of 'local attitude'-- a lack of 'open-mindedness'. I haven't noticed this in other towns in No GA--so it was memorable. 'Bow Tie Man' ==I will never forget him. If there are others like him don't even visit Clayton.
As long as you are looking at Cumming and Gainesville--look at Buford/Suwanee area. The town of Buford looks like it intends to develop very nicely--I don't know the area well but --the Mall of Georgia is nearby and there seems to be plenty of growth going on. I have just--driven through the area and looked around --I don't live there and others may have more specific FYI.
