Talking Lake Seminole Area (Donalsonville)

Can anyone shed some light on the Lake Seminole area for us? We are looking for a place to spend the winter (or maybe longer) this year, we found what appears to be a nice RV park it's called Trails End Resort & Marina I guess their primary business is selling/leasing house boats.
We are looking for a quiet area, but on the same note, we're not looking for a situation where you have to drive 30 miles to do weekly food shopping. We enjoy spending time on our pontoon boat so this place was quite appealing..... What can you tell us ???
Oh yea.... What's this I hear about that area being the "Knat" capital of the USA??? Geesh......
Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

PS. Is there any water left in the lake.... Heard there's quite a drought going on down there.

Don

Smile Trail's End Resort and Marina Experience

I can speak from experience. THE COVE at Trail's End™ - Resort & Marina - Lake Seminole Houseboat Sales and Rentals - Cabin Rentals & RV Site RentalsHouseboat Houseboats Cabin Cabins Rent A Houseboat Rent A Cabin Cabin Rental Houseboat Rental houseboat magazine boattrader b is the site. You can switch into the Trail's End Resort pages and see just about everything.

We were a little worried about grocery shopping, but that didn't turn out to be a problem at all. There were stores just 20 minutes away. And frankly, most of our visits to Trail's End we just ate at Pop's Dockside Grill. They have down home cooking which is nothing like the average restaurant. Its obvious they make it from scratch and while the recipes are simple the taste is incredible. Just regular items like fried chicken and catfish will make you come back.

We rent a pontoon boat while we are there because it is so much less expensive than hauling ours halfway across the state. And there's no loading or unloading then.

The houseboats you are talking about are in the cove on the main Chattahoochee River. The main part of the resort where the RV park, and the camping and cabins are is off the inner channel, where they have covered boat slips and Pops. You can pretty much walk to everything right there. And it is VERY quiet. Once you hook up you are good to go.

If you like to fish and you forget anything, they have a general store with a bait shop.

Thanks for the reply Janet.... been here almost 6 weeks. Great place, and more reasonable than the state campground down the street.
