What type of work are you looking for? What type of $$ do you plan to spend for housing?

Why not Columbus if you have family there?

I think Valdosta, GA would be a radical change from Detroit, MI.
Go Here>>>
City of Valdosta, GA : Home
Savannah, GA would be 'more like Columbus'. I don't know the economic trends well enough to know what employment opportunities exist but Savannah is larger than Valdosta.

Columbus is doing well in this economic downturn compared to other cities. Many industries are expanding. Columbus is a great city to move to. It offers a lot for a city of 200,000 and a metro of 500,000. There are a lot of new apartment communities to checkout out as well.
I"ll be glad to answer any questions you may have.
