It depends on what youre looking for. Access by public transit wont be a problem, but transit or driving itll take you thirty minutes to get to downtown and a lot more if theres traffic. Youll do alright with shopping, but most likely either have to go to East Point/Campcreek Parkway (transit option) or Southpark Mall area (driving option and only local mall since shannon closed). As for work you need to research your particular field and see where theyre located in conjunction with the city. Ideally in Atlanta metro you ultimately pick a location where you A)telecommute, B)live within 8 miles, or C)have transit that connects home and job with two or less transfers (test your commute via itsmarta.com)

I live in the city. Its okay
Home of many car dealers and Industrial
It has lost some business
But it continues to grow regardless
We used to have a mall
But that mall was closed not to long ago due to bills
Im sure it was just in competition
It was really wise of them to build a Walmart super center right next to a dead mall
Thats a great way to rid one
Other than that the city is in close distance with Atlanta and the Airport
It is very convenient
Home to a jail branch, post office, and police station
Oh yeah, and we have rush hour!!

Yeah 85 gets traffic on a weekly basis
mainly when theres a wreck
If theres is no traffic Downtown is really a 15 to 20 minute drive
and 6 minutes for the airport

You must really be one of them Atlanta drivers then 15-20 minutes to downtown on 85 from Union City
That's a 25 minute MINIMUM without any traffic at all. If you're doing it around 5...expect about 40 minutes or so.
