Are ther any residents that live in Union City Georgia that can comment on the area? Shopping areas? Transportation? Nearby hospitals for work? Family friendly? Churches? Affordable, good/badareas to live for a renter? Thanks in advance for your help?

i live near there, it is about 15-20 minutes from downtown atlanta and even closer to the airport. There are some ghetto areas but there are also some newer, nicer areas closer to south fulton parkway. South fulton is growing very rapidly so its ever changing. 10 years ago no one even considered moving to Union City but now it is getting more popular. Most of the retail is along Jonesboro road where Shannon Mall is (which is lame) but theyre supposedly building a lot more retail along south fulton parkway where a lot of housing developments are being built- or WERE being built before the housing bust. It's a pretty nice place to live, check it out.

How far will I be to take my son to get to a bus or train station to go to school or work. What hospitals are near where I can find a job?
