Default Drought in GA?

Some of my family lives in Chattanooga (in TN I know), but said the drought further towards Atlanta was significantly worse. How bad has it gotten and have the recent storms helped at all? I live in Lexington, KY where recent rains have gotten us out of a 7 inch deficit.
