Smile Moving to Georgia... best place for my needs?

Hi, I want to relocate to a nice place in Georgia. I am young and I want to attend a nice college, have nice scenery such as mountains and I want to be able to have lots of activities to do. I am not into the party/club scene and I would like a place that is absolutely gorgeous everywhere you turn that has nice homes around $150,000. Also, the job outlook is a factor. My husband worked in a place for water purification. Also, diversity would be nice! We are an interracial couple. Any recommendations?

I live in Virginia near the Blue Ridge Mountains currently.

Berry College in Rome, GA is located in a scenic area of north GA with mountain views. There should be some homes in your price range but I know nothing of employment opportunities in your DH's field in this area. This is north GA and there is less diversity in this part of the state.
Berry College - emphasizing academic excellence, meaningful work experience & service to others

Quite possibly Kennesaw State College would be a better choice, just north of Marietta. I think you can see a few mountains in this area and it is diverse. Cobb County might have a position for which your husband is qualified. The scenery would be less spectacular but there would be more 'To Do' in this area.
Kennesaw State University

A bit further northwest you might like Holly Springs or Canton. I am not certain about colleges in this area but the mountains are very scenic.

ETA:
It looks like Reinhardt College in Waleska, GA would be an option>>>

After a recent trip to Canton I believe the locals are not very 'openminded' and that it might be difficult to ever feel accepted in this area. There are parts of Georgia that will always be that way.

I couldn't find an item in the Walmart and tried to ask several people but didn't receive much assistance. I stood in line while a cashier had a lengthy chat with a customer who seemed to be a fellow coworker. I put my things down and walked off to find what I needed. When I returned the cashier chastised me for walking away and another customer joined her. I do not care to live among such people.

Thanks TakeAhike! I'll look into those places. Does anyone know about Mount Airy or Helen, Georgia?

Isn't Mt Airy in NC?

Helen, GA is a tiny Alpine village/town.

There are several colleges in the area>>>
helen ga colleges - Google Maps

This area is much less progressive/diverse than metro Atlanta and I would honestly not enjoy living there.
Great for vacations.

HI, I grew up in newnan and while it's been years since i looked at colleges, I fell in love with: North Georgia College and State University - The Military College of Georgia - The Military College of Georgia. I was accepted here but my family moved to Charlotte and I decided to go wtih them. I attended Appalachian State University which had a very similar atmosphere. It's part military for those that are in that program but I think that has changed and it was minimally so several years (decades now.... yikes) ago.

Default Dahlonega

My wife and I just moved to dahlonega. That is the city that ther college in the previous post is locsated. Its is absolutlely awesome here. Very laid back, beautiful scenery and pretty close to Dawsonville, Cumming and Gainesville, where jobs can be found. And not too much farther to Alpharetta where even more and higher paying jobs can be found. Give it a look, I think you will be pleased with what you find, we are.
