Dentist relocating
Hello all,
Well, my wife and I have decided to relocate to Georgia (preferablly north Georgia) from PA to start our lives. I will be looking into opening a new dental office, but am in the process of doing a little research about demographics. I want to relocate where there might be a shortage of dentists and the population seems to be on the upside. I know this is a pretty specific guideline, but if anyone has any advice, please help me out. Thanks.

The communities/municipalities around/near Georgia lakes might be a place to start.
Great Lakes of Georgia
From a number of posts I have inferred that the Northwestern part of the state grows steadily. Lake Allatoona is located here, the Silver Comet Trail is found in this area--Acworth, Kennesaw, Cartersville, perhaps Canton and Holly Springs.

We seem to have a lot of dentists here in Bartow County. Now a town like Rockmart, GA has just a couple. Rockmart is in Polk County which is just 6 miles from where I live. It's a growing town, they just opened a Walmart a new hotel is opening soon also, 3 new banks, Lowes bought property there as well although they have not started building. Also they just opened 3 new fast food restaurants. All this took place on Hwy 278. More new businesses to come.

Rockmart doesn't have alot of dentists because the population doesn't have a lot of teeth...... (j/k- sorta)
Depending on how far north you want to go, you can start looking in Cherokee County and go north from there. Cherokee's population is expected to keep growing at a very rapid pace, and the areas north of it are growing as well- Ellijay, Blue Ridge, etc.

HI, I would suggest looking into Milledgeville, Ga. Some Dentist travel from other cities to work there 2-3 days a week. Nice little college town, friendly people, good restaurants, many great homes to choose from. Military college for up to 12th grade.
Great Lake Sinclair-Lots of Bass & Crappie tournments and a great place to ski, jet ski, or just cruise the lake.
