Default Advice on moving to Carrollton/Villa Rica

Hello all

I'm new here and looking to get some advice on the area.

We currently live in Hinesville (outside Savannah). We relocated there due to a job transfer for me. I recently quit my job to stay home with my son and too much stress affecting my health.

My husband is applying to jobs in and around the Atlanta area and is seriously looking at a job in Carrollton.

What areas/neighborhoods are good to look at? Looking at around $50k/yr income. So houses around the $150-175 range.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I note that nobody has responded to you, so I thought I'd weigh in. I am in a similar situation and have taken a job in Carrollton. My family and I will be moving up there this June and we have decided to build in Mirror Lake, which is Villa Rica. I will be about 20 miles from Carrollton and I don't mind the reverse commute as it'll only take about 20 minutes to get to downtown Carrollton.
I would take a look at several places if you are interested in Carrollton and the surrounding area. Oak Mountain has several different home communities and I believe Oak Mountain Park has a few homes in your desired price range. The community in which I'm building has many different subdivisions and I believe some of the homes start in the $160k range. Check out www.mirror-lake.com and see if that is helpful. I also have been working with a realtor in Carrollton who is great and would be quite helpful to you if you are interested. PM me and I will give you his name and website info if you like.
I liked the community at Mirror Lake because of all of the amenities. 36-holes of golf, 4 tennis courts, miles of walking trails, a 96-acre lake, and proximity to Douglasville/Atlanta/airport.
Good luck with your search!

Regards,
PMMD

Thank you for your suggestion. My husband got a call back for the HR interview for next week so we'll be heading back for part 2.

Glad to see you managed to find a development you like.

I'll have to check back with you once you get settled in so you can recommend a ped for our son (6mths).

Thanks

Mary and the boys

Are you still searching a home in the Carrollton/Villa Rica area? If so, I have one for sale in your price range. It's a 3900 sq ft. ranch home.
