Question Trying to relocate to Statesboro

Im tring to relocate to Statesboro, GA in April. I would like to know how are the people, schools, employment, the town, is it ghetto or what? I dont want to live in a ghetto community. Thats why Im trying to leave Detroit. By the way, how is the school system? I have a 9 year old son.

Depending on how you look at it, most American cities have low income neighborhoods. Are you curious about racial or economic issues? I find the term ghetto a bit troubling...

Why don't you start with a search of this site using the search option at the top of the page. There have been quite a few recent posts regarding Statesboro.

I was born in Statesboro and lived there until 1994.

Pros: Cheap cost of living, good public schools, low crime rate, short daily commute

Cons: hardly any jobs, wages are low, nothing much to do in the evenings and weekends, not much of a dating scene if you are single, mainly a college town

Statesboro is a rural area and I was bored when I lived there. I don't want to live in a town that small again. It is not a ghetto type area. There are run down sections of town but it doesn't have the violence of a big city like Detroit.
