Livinginnova,
I have visited both many times over the last year and think that I like Great Sky much better. For starters Great Sky is located on 140 which has much less traffic then Ga 20 and has better access to canton and shopping. A new parkway is going in right now that will make it even easier to get around if you live in Great Sky. Great Sky also seems to be a bit more wooded. Another place you might consider is Towne Mill which is down the Bluff Parkway behind the Riverstone shopping center. River Green S/D might also interest you (Ga 20 west). I would stay away from Gov. Preserve, but that is just me.

Default Atlanta_Tider

I do live in Great Sky and have for 5 plus years. Let me just clear up a few inconsistencies. The age range spans the generations from the early 20's to the 80's. We are not built-out. The developer estimates at least 8 more years with the numbers ranging from 1500-1800 homes. We have 915 acres with almost one-thirds of that dedicated to greenspace. The amenities include 3 pools ( one relaxation pool, one junior Olympic-size with a slow beach entry one smaller pool with slide and a mushroom with water cascading over the cap) adventure park for children, tennis courts, basketball court, and hyking trails throughout. Also, we are getting second
entrance into Great Sky accessed from Rheinhardt College Parkway which will be completed by July 2007. Additionally, a 400 acre lake with 15 miles of shoreline is being built on our border. We will have access from Great Sky as it abutts our community. Great Sky is organized by different neighborhoods with their own style, personality, price range -- from the 220's to the high 500's. You would have to check with a sales agent in each neighborhood for lot size, but our lot is 1/2 acre. In my opinion, it is a great neighborhood with for the most part wonderful people. We moved here from Alpharetta, and it has been a refreshing change.

You may also want to look at Harmony at the Lakes. We just bought there, and it's a great community. It's a little further south as well, in case you need to commute into downtown or anyplace closer to the city.

Default just bought great sky

my husband and I just bought a home in great sky, we are relocating from wisconsin. we did alot of looking and found that great sky met alot of our needs. we have a 13 year old son starting high school in august, so amenities meant alot to us. with the pools and social activities we felt this would be a perfect fit, we will soon find out as we are moving July 1st. we were told they are building a new hospital and also adding a new mall which includes a Kohl's store which is where I shop all of the time ( Kohl's is originally from Wisconsin) they also have a brand new YMCA and Cherokee High is only 3 miles down the road. the resovoir they are putting, in you will be able to go fishing on among other activities. I can't say enough good things about Great Sky!! We are looking forward to enjoying all Georgia has to offer!!!!

Default I live there too

I think you'll find a great website that shows all the homes for sale in Great Sky at Great Sky Homes For Sale . That company has a great reputation for selling real estate in Cherokee County..especially homes for sale in Canton. They have an office right down the road from both neighborhoods.. actually almost across the street from the new entrance coming to Great Sky. Check out their local office at Cherokee Real Estate ERA Sunrise Realty .

Hope they can help you!
