Greetings to all. I'm an Iowan transfering to the Southeast to take on a sales management position for a large medical company. The region I will be responsible for encompasses all of South Carolina, Georgia and North Florida. Due to the nature of the position I am basically able to live anywhere within that geographic area and would like to get some ideas of the best place for me and my family. Additional details: I'm thirty and married, have two young kids that are one and three. We enjoy the outdoors and doing activities with our children. We are also coming from a small college town (120k) that we love due to the lively atmosphere of it. I appreciate any help and/or advice.
PS. As of right now I'm considering Atlanta b/c of convenience and Charleston simply b/c of the great reviews it gets. Have been to Atl many times, never to Charleston.

Not quite sure I would call a college town of 120K small. Anyway, on to the topic at hand...
If you like the big city with all its conveniences, including horrendous traffic, yeah, Atlanta fits the bill.
Charleston is a very eclectic city with much to offer. Lots of history. Mount Pleasant is a nice suburban area just north of Charleston.
Savannah is also a great historic city with lots of potential. It would be centrally located between South Carolina and North Florida.

i would think living along the i-95 corridor, like savannah is, would be the best travel scenario for fenix; unless your job comes with a company jet. i-16 takes you right through north central georgia and up to atlanta, while highway 84 will lead you through southeast georgia and then to southwest georgia. you could even take i-95 to brunswick and hit 84, which is the way i go. i-95 goes straight into jacksonville which has i-10 leading straight across north florida. if i had a job such as yours, my concern would travel convenience. check the map and see what you think.
