Funny you mention Atlantic Southern Bank. I did a lot of business with them, but now they are surviving by the skin of their teeth. Happy new year BTW!

I've been to both cities (Columbus and Macon), when im on interstate 75 in Macon, most of tags on cars are from Florida and metro Atlanta counties heading down to Florida. When im on interstate 185 to Columbus, I see fewer cars but most are from Columbus, meaning that if the cities had the same type of interstate system..the interstates would look similiar....but as far as comparing these cities....Columbus win....
Columbus is spread out and it may not feel as urban as Macon to some, but when I was in Macon it wasn't appealing to me. I found Columbus to look much newer than Macon especially North Columbus, and also itsn't Columbus adding 30,000 BRAC soldiers. That means more jobs in the future. Macon needs to become part of the Atlanta metropolitan area and it will be the third largest surburb behind Sandy Springs and Roswell.

Served in the Army in both places. Equally good places, but have different activities and fun things to do. Fresh water fishing vs salt water fishing, etc. Columbus high school athletics are far superior, if that matters.

LOL....You're silly..... Columbus wins the argument of whose the better city, and Macon isn't even isn't even in the top 5 largest cities in Georgia. Athens and like earlier mentioned Roswell, Sandy Springs, and John's Creek will all be larger than Macon. It would be so embarassing to see Warner Robins pass Macon in that area (which it will) and then Macon would be a pretty large surburb..So instead of going back and forth about Columbus....Macon needs to focus on staying the largest city in central GA
