Default LaGrange?

Winter has arrived. As such my wife's thoughts move to moving to a warmer climate. This past summer I was vacationing down at Callaway Gardens. A few times I wound up driving through LaGrange. It seemed like a nice town. I've done some web searches and was wondering what opinions about LaGrange are out there.

There are several threads about LaGrange.

You would be close to Callaway Gardens and Columbus would be the closest city of any size. I think La Grange is about 2 hrs from Atlanta.

LaGrange is 68 miles from Atlanta. I doubt it would take 2 hours unless there was a lot of traffic.

LaGrange is 30 minutes from Columbus and 45-50 from Atlanta. Great city with close proximity to Georgia's 2 largest cities.

LaGrange is one of the best small cities in GA IMO. I waxed eloquently on the subject in the other thread that Takeahike posted the link for.

USA Today did a great article a year or so ago on cities poised for growth close to but outside major metro areas and it featured LaGrange prominently.
