Adel is a city in Cook County. It is the county seat. According to tradition, name was derived from the middle letters of Philadelphia The latitude of Adel is 31.136N. The longitude is -83.423W. It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Elevation is 240 feet. The estimated population, in 2003, was 5,295.
The county was named for Philip Cook, state senator and secretary of state. Cook County is one of 159 counties in Georgia. The estimated population in 2004 was 16,255. This was an increase of 3.07% from the 2000 census.

maybe you can tell me if this is true or not;

i have a few friends that live in adel.

according to them, there is still a law on the books that says if you are unhappy with your wife, you have the right to bring her to the courthouse steps on sunday afternoon and beat her for her transgressions.
