Default Moving to Norcross

I got a job in Norcross and hence need to move next month. We are looking to buy a house in good location where the house price may have gone down now but could go up later. We have a 5 year old daughter; we have not decided whether to send her to private or public school (she goes to a good preschool now). My wife is inclined to send her to private school but if we can buy house in the best school district and if we get admissions in the best school, we might send her to public school. We prefer schools that are academic (major decision factor).

Can someone please advise the best place to buy a house with ideal (not too long) commute to Norcross? The location should also be a safe community.
Which are the top public school districts and schools in that area?
Which are the decent private schools? My daughter goes to Challenger School (San Jose, CA). We are not fans of Montessori schools.

Thanks in advance for the help/advise.
Regards,
Martin
