Default Ringgold or vicinity

My wife and I are looking to move if at all possible during 2009. I would prefer to be in Northern GA, and Ringgold or the immediate area looks to be a real possibility.

What can anyone tell me about the area? I hope to be visiting GA and TN (Chattanooga) in the early Spring. We will be retiring and have no children.

Good, bad, indifferent, tax info, crime, etc. All would be helpful.

Any links for more info would also be a real help.

GeorgiaPeach08 is on a distinguished road
Ringgold has a small town feel yet is only 20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga,TN. Plus your only 15 minutes from Hamilton Place Mall and tons of shopping. I live in Windstone which is a gated golf community. Its a beautiful area and you should drive through the neighborhood on your visit. In addition to the #1 ranked golf course there is a pool, tennis, restaurant and well organized neighborhood association. The homes in the back of the neighborhood sit at the top of the mountain with great views of White Oak mountain. Most homes are in the $300's but with the economy there are three or four homes between $199-$269. These are a steal for this neighborhood! Hope this helps.
