What area of Newnan is good?
Hi, I am looking to relocate from Clayton county, ugh, to a nicer part of metro atlanta. I was looking at Dallas, Paulding county but it just seems so far out. Currently I am looking at Newnan, Coweta county and could use some suggestions on what areas I should be looking at. I have 2 young children so good schools are a MUST. I am looking at renting a house. I work from home so commuting is not an issue. I love the "style" of peachtree city but can't afford it if ya know what I mean. Any suggestions would me much appreciated!

I would recommend Summergrove. One of the nicest communities in the metro area.

yeah, people tend to like the new subdivisions on the eastern side of the city, but you should also look at historic newnan and the subdivisions north of town like on happy valley circle.

I love Newnan. The majority of the people are friendly, shopping is convenienty and almost every store and restaurant is located here. The new Ashley Park is incredible! Some of the schools are top notch but you have to do your research. I would suggest using schoolmatters.com, greatschools.net and go to the Georgia Department of Education and look at the individual schools report cards. You need to look carefully when looking at the report cards. For instance, Evans middle school did not make its AYP last year but it had nothing to do with academics. It was due to the lack of attendance on the students part. As far as I'm concerned that is a lack of good parenting and not the schools fault. So you need to read carefully.
I am partial to Northside Elementary and Madras Middle school but there are many other fantastic schools in the area. They are currently redistricting kids from Northside because they are building a new elementary school.
There are many wonderful subdivisions in Newnan of varying size and cost. A lot of them offer community featrures such as swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, etc.
Summergrove is very nice and seems to be extremely family friendly if you like living on a postage stamp. The majority of the yards are teeny tiny but seem people prefer that.
The airport is about 20 minutes away without traffic.
Good luck with your move and feel free to PM me if I can answer any questions!

Paulding County is actually just as close to Atlanta as Coweta is, maybe slightly closer.

I just moved to historic downtown Newnan and really like it here. I looked at the Paulding Co area before I settled on Newnan. Almost everything north of Midtown just seemed too congested for my taste.
Good luck!
