Well the quaint north GA mountain towns are generally more places for retirees or second weekend getaway homes. It would be possible to commute from Dawsonville or even Dahlonega to a job in Alpharetta in North Fulton (there are lots of office parks in Alpharetta)... other than that your best bet might be to look just outside Chattanooga, TN.. The Georgia side suburbs of Chattanooga are great places to live. If you want something more quaint but still close enough to jobs in Chattanooga, then look into Dade County, GA.

Nothing in North GA is commutable to anywhere in terms of work, especially those rural places. Their economies are generally based on family business and local places that tend to hire locals only for obvious reasons. They are great retirement/vacation/3rd/4th/5th home places while still not being out in the middle of nowhere like a place in montana might be.

guys im trying to find an old country home to raise my two boys. I want warm weather so not alaska..lol.. but green homey country old away from the city. i mean a town that has about 100 people and all are friendly where i can leave my windows open and not haft to worry about anything please help me find the perfect home
