I would love to hear from anyone who lives in Dahlonega GA or the vicinity. My husband and I are looking for gof community to semi-retire
to.

Is Achasta a nice community -- meaning are the people friendly to new-comers? Is Achasta just a week-end getway for people from Atlanta or
is is really a community of people full-time?

My wife and I have lived in Achasta for 7 years. We purchased in section formerly entitled as the cottages, now South Ridge.
The main asset, besides the amenities are the people. Both mens and ladies golf groups, tennis groups, bridge, bible study, lady's club, member dinners, poker groups and you name it. Very charitable oriented in all areas. Very receptive to newcomers.
Our home is currently for sale, 3BR/2.5BA ranch, the main features are open great room w/coffered ceiling, hardwood floors, master on main, new granite and stainless appliances, steam shower, lower level den, main level office, formal dining, upper and lower level decks (upper is screened, 3 sides green space, 3 sides brick and finished lower level. Asking price is $439900.
