Don't buy a McCarr home! You will be so unhappy with it. They build a crappy product!! Use crappy materials in their homes and they have had in the past year or so troubles passing just basic home inspections. Flashings on windows are very very shotty, roofing problems, joists don't meet and I can go on and on.

My builder was Blue Ridge Residential. Our house is rock solid. I cannot believe how energy efficient our home is. We have about 3200 finished living space and last month our electirc bill was $61 and our gas was $180 (hot water and heat). WOW--can't beat that. We live in Bridge Mill in Canton. I am not sure if Blue Ridge is in your area.

I have a mccar home that I bought last year and I'll tell you this... NEVER AGAIN!! They won't even give you the schematic of your own home with all the dimensions(unlike other home builders!) there home is built with cheap material and I'm from new york and I work with contractors so I know this but my wife bought the home while i was on vacation and you can't always say no to your wifes other wise this will create a complex in them and it back fires on you when they do see a good deal and pass it up. ( I talk from experience) Skip this builder.

Moderator cut: Read the Rules I was agreeing on this problem with the blueprints. I asked for them for the first year as we wanted to expand our pantry. We were told they could not be provided to homeowners because they are a 'basic' blueprint for each floorplan. As the home is actually built, they may 'tweak' some things, such as, electrical outlets. Several neighbors and I have discussed how each of our outlets are located all differently in the homes and yet we have the exact same floorplans. Odd. I also made mention, I'd built with Lennar in the past and they were very fair and courteous in dealing with a reoccuring settling problem with my old home. They were repairing this issue even past year 8 of us being in that home. I gave Lennar my recommendation as a builder.

Moderator cut: Read the Rules

Oh---I'm laughing hysterically right now!! Sorry Gersh---can't share why. Not allowed.

When your home is completed, should you have any problems you are not able to get resolved through McCar's warranty, contact Rob McCrae, VP of construction. He'll help to quickly resolve any problems you may have. Sometimes, going through the "proper channels" do not work and you have to go straight to the top. He's the man you'll need to get it done.
