What about Athens? (employment, schools, college)

I am considering relocating to Athens, Georgia. What can you all tell me? I have done alot of research but want to hear about schools, people etc...I am living in Wilmington, NC and it is great but looking for something a bit more progressive. What do you think? Will I like Athens? It looks great on paper.

How old are you? Do you have kids or are you planning to go to school yourself? Do you have employment prospects?

Hi. Thanks for asking. Not sure when you posted this...Forgot where this was and just found it. Anyway...

I have kids that are teenagers and a couple that are on their way to college. I am an acupuncturist and would be planning to start a practice. I am planning on going to school myself and major in art which is my other love metals/jewelry/gems. I will mark this if you get a chance to get back to me. Thanks very much! Since I wrote this I have visited Athens and thought the people were great and it is a wonderful city but wasn't quite sure whether they were ready for me and my interesting ways...Wasn't sure whether acupuncture would fly...but the people are just great! Interesting and wonderful and kind. And I love the property surrounding the area. I guess my biggest concern is whether I could make a living as an acupuncturist. Thanks very much.

You should check the Augusta Metro Area. Google richmond county GA to get city links. Great schools, hospitals, & lots of urban areas with retail, resturants, & etc.
