The whole basis of this thread is rather ridiculous in the first place. Buildings, including malls age.. become outdated and are eventually replaced by something newer and more in line with the times. Enclosed malls were more of an 80s thing.. you are seeing fewer of them.. as people prefer more village and urban atmospheres, so the "lifestyle center" is the vogue model for new retail developments.

I agree retail developments eliminate the need for malls thats why malls in every city in America have probably seen a decline in customers
