Starbucks, Oldnavy, Ruby Tuesday, Steve & Berry, KB Toys and Dillards left not because of the Macon's Market these companies closed these stores because they were facing a hardship company wise not because of Macon.

Starbuck had announced closure of the Macon Mall store way before the new center open as well as hundreds of others across the US.

Steve & Berry closed Macon and W.Robins store; KB toys,Steve & Berry and Ruby Tuesday was all facing bankruptcy's they why they closed. Because Ruby Tuesday has just proposed a new restaurants in East Macon in 2008....

-The biggest problem is that the mall has a negative equity, which is valued at 80% less than it was 3 years ago. Any improvements would have to be paid for in cash. The bank that holds the note for the mall has already lost about 30 million dollars on it.

Wow! I had no idea it had gone down this hard, this fast.

In a couple of years when the economy is back, it will probably be demolished for a new WalMart Super Center. Mark my words.

^Middle Georgia can hardly support all this retail.

Macon Mall is on it's way out - I had heard that it was going downhill, but the loss of these type of stores spells the death of that mall as we have known it.

This is still a very valuable piece of land, and it will be repositioned. Probably into a Super WalMart.

Otherwise, it will just change uses into something else - but stick a fork in it. As a regional mall, it's done.

The Macon regional area will always support the Macon Mall and the new developments coming.....The Macon Mall will NOT be closing and bounce back to it old self a regional center....... Yall are a bunch of Macon Haters.......and there you have it...... you guys get a kick out of bashing Macon, but I'm hear to tell you all are wrong and will soon have a full belly of negative words and comments. Macon will became a huge Hotspot in GA.... comment on that
