I think the biggest construction project in the state has been expansion of Hartsfield airport.. Then you also have the new Sydney Lanier Bridge, expansion of the port of Savannah, and general widening of interstates throughout Georgia.

As usual lil musket has to slight Augusta. On every thread about Augusta 8 out of 10 times. Just like this person said the Augusta mall is generic looking. Even though how many malls have a attached outdoor lifestyle center. The one in Augusta is bigger than Columbia.

There is no slight on Augusta to point out the obvious.. Malls in general are generic looking... there is nothing unique about it to Augusta.. it is a mall.. you can probably find about 20 other malls in teh US that look similar. Augusta's historic neighborhoods and historic downtown are what make it unique... not a shopping mall that can be found in just about every similar sized city.. You find these lifestyle centers, malls all across the country. And comparing the I520/20 interchange to spaghetti junction in Atlanta is simply a gross exaggeration that anyone who has seen both can easily understand. This is not a slight of Augusta, just putting things in their proper perpective, epecially when certain people routinely post grossly inaccurate information.

As a previous poster stated, Streets of Buckhead is a pretty huge project - $1.2 billion
Another one is the new Atlanta Symphony Center. They said it will cost an estimated $2 billion.

Probably your top ten big construction projects are all in metro Atlanta... the only thing that comes close is the port of Savannah.. and I don't believe their is any expansion work currently being done on it. If Plant Vogtle adds another reactor, then that will be a pretty significant construction project creating many jobs.

If all malls are generic looking why did you only mentiion Aug mall. Just like you said you live in West Augusta. But didn't know what the crane was for downtown in the pic thread. You said that Carmax wasn't built. Then said oh carmax is built when you found out. You said most of the cranes downtown are for the MCG expansion and St. Sebastian. When the MCG expansion hasn't even begun yet. They're only knocking down gilbert manor projects.
You probably lived in Augusta 10-15 years ago. So you know the general info on the area. But as far as new things in the city. You don't know anything but what you get online.
If you live in West Augusta? How many cranes are at wheeler road?.This should be easy.

KIA has some 6,000 announced jobs just in GA, including the main plant. Courtesy of GA Econ Dev.
But, the NSA complex will have much higher paying jobs.
And as far as "projects" I would not consider most highway widenings or expansions, even Hartsfield runways, to be "projects" in the sense the individual may have asked the question. To me the question at hand is NOT infrastructure but large scale JOB generators or developments that directly attract substantial increments of growth. And as for the individual commenting about a certain section of I-85, his response seems to be that of one who wont take the broad, sweeping view. Yeah, widening is nice. But however congested, the existing route has managed to facilitate travel. Highways dont generate growth. They more or less accomodate it. But the incoming job flows and household attraction constitute the real growth. And it sure doesnt hurt to have or develop a good educational system to attract and hold good employers, workers and households.
