Can YOU help?
Hi! My husband and I are seriously looking for a new place to call home. Between the hurricanes and a median home price of over $400,000, living in South Florida has become unbearable. We just want a place with a small town feel, public schools that people are proud of, decent homes at decent prices, and a clean, healthy environment. Does this sound like some place that you know? I will be visiting the Woodstock/Canton area soon...I seem to be more drawn to the northwest area of Ga. Any helpful tips about the area (or Georgia in general, for that matter) that you can pass on? Thanks so much!

affordable nice homes
We are planning to move to Covington GA upon completion of our home. We moved from the D.C. metro area (one of the highest in the country). We are very pleased with what we found (about half of what we would pay at home. Try our development Rosedown - we are about 40 miles east of Atlanta - Very nice community that is growing, but yet not too fast - very peaceful and quiet. Another nice community we looked at Wilkerson Mill Park just south of Atlanta off of Interstate - 85

Hi there. My husband and I are moving to Georgia from Illinois next month. We've just returned from a house-hunting trip to Saint Marys and already we ache to return. It is the friendliest, most exquisitely lovely, small town that I've ever seen. You really should check it out

Southern Georgia is nice, too
I live in Americus, Georgia, in the southwestern part of the state. This is a friendly small town with nice neighborhoods, a good hospital, good shopping, a university, and amenities to please most people. We are still low population, and housing prices are reasonabe. We are about 125 miles north of the Florida line and the same distance south of Atlanta. Do a search for Americus, Georgia, and see what you think. Michael Dixon

newton county, which is 40 miles southeast of Atlanta is affordable and if you like to have a home on 4-5 acres, you can buy a nice older home (which were built better in my opinion) for around 235k. I guess it depends on where you work and your commute. Getting around in Atlanta traffic can be miserable. Newton county is the 7th fastest growing county in the USA, it is still rural, but you have the best of both worlds, you can be in Atlanta in 40 minutes or in Athens GA, in 40 mins, both have great culture and diversity and good luck in your move! Welcome home to GA!

Canton Ga Area
We live in the Canton, Georgia area; Hickory Flats to be exact, but the post office assigns us a Canton address.
It's lovely here, very peaceful and the schools are great! I would suggest contacting any realtor in the Canton area for more information on homes, etc. or perhaps the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber may have packets they'll send you describing the area.
Hope this helps!

Cartersville Georgia is where we are moving to. We are from Central Florida and the houses in Cartersville and very reasonable and schools are great, I investigated all of this. We are very happy to get out of Florida. Hurricanes and the crime and the schools are the pits in Fla.

One of the best place I will advise to live are Buford, Braselton, Gainesville, Sugarhill and Dacula they have the best schools in Georgia and especially Buford has the quiet small town feel.
Another advantage it that homes have a higher appreciation rates in these areas more so they are all in Gwinnett County which has the best schools in Georgia.
