Augusta is the largest and most progressive area. Outside of Atlanta.

How is this measured. Most progressive? I doubt that. Savannah and Athens strike me as more "progressive" then Augusta.
As far as population figures, Augusta is the second largest metro area in the state.. that's fairly easy to validate via the census website.
But I would have a hard time believing Augusta is the most progressive (and by that I assume you mean liberal) area of the state outside Atlanta.

Thats why its called an opinion. I, on the other hand, agree with musket. Population-wise, Augusta is larger, but I feel like Savannah is more progressive. End.

Augusta is larger than Savannah. Not only in population wise. The SC side closes to the Savannah city limits. Isn't as developed as North Augusta and Aiken are. A third of Savannah's MSA & half of the CSA live in Chatham. Augusta is spread out closer to a metropolitan area.
