Yeah, but you can't even see the river from Downtown Macon.
Augusta and Columbus have development right ON their respective rivers.

Actually, I just found out not too long ago that Macon has a river running through it. The city doesn't seem to play up its proximity to a river like Augusta and Columbus do, maybe because the river didn't play as prominent a role in the city's founding and early history compared to Augusta and Columbus?
That last picture of Macon shows that the railroad seems to be a dividing line between the river and downtown. That doesn't appear to be the case in Augusta and Columbus, where the rivers are more proximate to their downtowns.

Well the river is a big part Macon history, but Macon is also big for rail, it has one largest rail system in Ga and the 2nd largest rail yards in the southeast...."Brosnan yards".

No, I'm not blind. You can't see the river from Downtown.
What - do you expect people to actually walk down that embankment, cross the railroad tracks, etc. to see the river? LOL!
That picture is from the North side of the river, not Downtown.
