Default RN relocating to Conyers in July

Hello,

I am a Registered Nurse with a BSN. I currently work in NY as a critical care nurse. When I relocate to Ga. I'd like to find employment at a community based outpatient facility, home care or teach. Right now, I work at the Department of Veterans Affairs and would like to find a position (federal). I have sent resumes to several federal agencies, but no responses yet. After posting my resume on an employment website, I am getting inundated with calls from nursing placement agencies, but they question why I don't want critical care. I'd love to teach and share my wealth of experience in the community. Some seem to have difficulty understanding that I am ready to make a change in my career. I am hitting many brick walls. I am not bound to remain in the federal system, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Our Atlanta VA medical center (in Decatur, actually) is partially staffed by Emory.

Have you considered hospice care? There are several residential hospice homes across the metro area that must have registered nurses onsite. Some hospice nurses do home care only.

Consider checking on the OPM website for jobs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There are many health education jobs periodically posted. You could very well use your health and educational interests and background in many different disciplines.
