LOL.......
OR IS IT state on indicator, triggers the on notice, for the extended benefit period..I really believe that this is all suppose to be foreign language to all of us. So that these officals do not have to be accountable. But you are right it is confusing. I just wish we could have the answers to our questions. Georgia is putting off the long term unemployed because I think they are seeing how many of us are uninformed about the EB program..so that claimants will start falling off of the unemployment benefit list(which is and has been happening). So that they will either accept any job(if you can even find that),live off of their families or find jobs in another state or just give completely up. Then the labor departments funds will be plentyful..THEN people in georgia who really dont know the truth about the effect this is having on thousands of unemployed workers in georgia and their families will think that these guys are the best because they have a big bank account for our labor department. There is many more different possibilities..

Default GDOL in the dark

I had to call the DOL for information this morning. Had a very nice lady on the phone. This was my last week of benefits (regular, and extended) and she told me I would qualify for the EB when they kicked in, it would all be in the magic letter that goes out 3 days from now. We will not have to report back to the office to reapply and that's all she knew. I believe they are keeping all the employees in the dark about this and that is why we are hearing nothing. I asked her if she knew anything else and she said she did not, that the gov had just signed the bill 2 weeks ago and they are going as fast as they can to put it into motion.

Not much info, but most everyone who recieved benefits should be qualified to recieve these.

Keep up the faith.

Default EB questions

Well, when you've gone several weeks w/o a check, and in my case a couple of months, a matter of keeping faith just doesn't cut the mustard! There are a lot of people that need to know WHEN the first check will be paid, and IF there is to be any retro pymts. Hopefully, the long awaited letter will address those specific questions.....among others.

How did she know you would qualify? What was the reason for you qualifying?

Thats great news, it makes sense that the GADOL would already have a list of people that qualify who have exhausted their benefits. I hope everyone who is at the end of their benefits calls today to find out more information.I'm starting my 2nd tier in a week, so I will wait to hear from the rest of you about whats going on before I call them. I get 10 1/2 weeks on tier 2, but the way my job hunting is going I need to plan right now on what I'm going to do financially, car payment, mortgage etc...

If they said you qualify, and you dont have to come in and file another application thats great news for everyone who is collecting EUC. Now the question is When, and How Long?

Good Luck Everyone!

I hope that one of the chosen few will post at least a summary of what the golden letter says.

if i qualify, i will not get mine until late next week. i live in south georgia and if our regular mailman runs we will get it on time, if he is out or on vacation the substitute maillady doesnt like my road so she skips it for a few days. sometimes i get letters from ATL five days later than normal.

my only concern about not getting it is that my lay off date was in july 07 and i am on my second benenfit year. i wish the bill was explained in layman terms so i could know for sure what is going on.
