EB - Extended Unemployment Benefits
I am moving the discussion from NJ to GA as instructed. I want to keep the thread going so we can share new information with each other! Please post any new information on the Governor signing HB 581 or information on when they are going to start releasing the checks! GA is making it hard to find any news on the subject, so lets help each other stay informed.

Georgia... Today i got a return phone call from the Governor's Office from Norris Smith, he inform me that for everyone that has finished their EUC benefits, as of May 25 you can go into the DOL or go on line to recertify to began your EB benefits (third tier). You can not certify before May 25. If you care to assure yourself of this information feel free to contact the Governors Office.....

I don't quite understand what your saying. Do you mean that after May 25 we will start getting checks if we start certifying again.
recertify? do you mean just keep certifying?
Could you please explain? Thank you!

I'm not sure that I understand either. I thought we were supposed to continue certifying each week until it kicks in.

The governors office does not carry the GADOL information. I called several different career centers asking information about the fact that my last second teir check is this week, what do I need to do? (To really see if I was going to get the correct information)I was told to continue certifying each week. So that those weeks that I certify will be in the gadol system. It should not mean that the system will have to retro checks from those weeks I certified but it may mean that the date the EB TRIGGER IS ON FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA is the first week that can be valid and by certifying each week it will proove to the SYSTEM that I am still unemployed.I was also aware that the EB PROGRAM WILL BE STRICTER THAN EUC OR REGULAR UI ON JOB SEARCHES. EVERYONE MUST make sure they are using the job search sheets every week correctly. get the persons name who you speak with about a job especially...and name of company or id#. You must get out and pound the pavements..May 13 is the 40th day that HB 581 was passed and if Perdue doesnt sign it, it does automactically become law. I hope this week we can hear some news about our EB PROGRAM..

As it was explain to me, because a number of people ending their second tier in Jan. and Feb. and did not continue to certify, will have to reapply for the EB bemefits.

My 2nd tier ended March 14, but I have continued to certify each week. On the GADOL inquiry page it says NOT PAID for each week since my 2nd tier benefits ran out. I knew that something was different than before, because the other times my benefits ran out they kicked me out of the system. It wouldn't even allow me to certify, because my benefits had ran out. I had been hoping the reason that the system didn't kick me out this time was that there was going to be a third tier of benefits.
I thought maybe someone else would also find this interesting.
