Red face Villa Rica schools

We will be moving to GA and are considering many areas west to northwest of Atlanta (about an hour from Atlanta). We have not driven around a lot yet, but will soon.

The home prices seem too good to be true in the Villa Rica area. What's the catch??
Does anyone know about the schools in the Villa Rica area?
Is the commute to Atlanta from Villa Rica as bad as I've heard?
What's good/bad about this area?

We are looking for a small/rural town with good schools about an hour outside of Atlanta. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The "catch" is indeed the commute. But many people seem to manage it.
