Default Barrow County

Moving to Barrow County in early summer. Anyone give me some good ideas of fun one tank trips to N Ga for some summer fun with the kids.

Looking forward to seeing new things, as we are coming from Florida.
Know about Stone Mountain and all the shopping we can do, but can anyone tell me of some cool things to do North of Atlanta???

Can't wait to relocate!!!

Thanks
ElMar

The Classic Center in Athens, Ga is a great venue with something fun always going on...this summer we have Widespread Panic in concert, Chicago (the Broadwasy play) and tons of low cost things. We have parks, lake , the only double barrel cannon in the world, a tree that ownes itselfhorseback riding, and more.

What do your kids like to do?

Helen, GA in the Moutains

Lots of history in any of the old towns, stop in every old square and read the plaque next to the court house.

If your into hiking check out the Parks.

Another day trip is go over to Washington, GA a beautiful old town. If you can go on a week day and go inside the court house. It has about 20 old photos of the square at different times thru out the history.

Close by, you can visit the Shields-Ethridge Farm it's on the National Historical register and only about 10 mins from Winder. (they are my neighbors). They have lots of old buildings and the Ethridge decendants still live in the home and work the farm. They have their own web site.

There's also Lake Lanier, pretty picnic areas down by the dam.
