We have visited several over-55 active adult communities and think we would like the lifestyle; and we are now considering Del Webb at Lake Oconee and plan to visit there soon. We believe that all the amenities are complete. We would appreciate comments (pro and con) from residents or from people who have visited there.

Thanks.

I just bought a Muirfield. I lived in a Del WEbb in Tucson and loved it. Couldn't take the summers there. I am looking forward to this one. The location appears great. Have you visited the Ritz Carlton development down the road. Gorgeous!!. I like the idea of the lake and the pavillion at lakeside. I am dissappointed at the size of the pool table they put in, it is a joke. otherwise it looks great. hope the construction is better than some of the comments about other Del Webbs, Ours was great in Tucson, seems like that complaint is regional.

Default We recently visited ...

Del Webb's Lake Oconee and The Village at Deaton Creek. We really liked them both. The amenities at both communities are very nice ... and both are really beautifully landscaped. The lake access at Lake Oconee is a definite plus.

We went for a boat ride on Lake Oconee just to get a feel for it, and it's great ... and very large. The lakeside pavilion and fenced boat/RV storage facilities are nice and will be even better when they are covered.

Like you, we've also read comments about the poor quality of construction in some of the Del Webb's, and we did ask about that. The responses were that they had no problems in their communities ... specifically no Chinese drywall which has been very troublesome in some states.

We ate at the Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation. The food was outstanding, the service wonderful, and the view was to die for! Nice ...

We haven't made a decision, but these are two wonderful communities, and each one has wonderful and unique qualities.

You mentioned that you bought at Muirfield. Where is that? Is it a Del Webb community?

Good luck in your new community!

Smile Muirfield

Muirfield is at Oconee. Good to hear about Chinese Drywall, they mentioned some other"green" products they were using.

Well, isn't this embarrassing! The villa we stayed in at Lake Oconee was called MUIRFIELD! Apparently, I wasn't paying much attention to the sign in front of the villa ... It was a nice, spacious villa.

We hope to be back for another look sometime later this year. Our only hesitance with Lake Oconee is that it seems remote. The communities we like are traffic-bound (like where we live now) or, in this case, out of the mainstream. Will you be living there full time?

Thanks too for clearing "Muirfield" up for me. I guess I was so enthralled by the beauty of the area that I didn't pay attention to the model we were staying in!

We LOVED the Ritz-Carlton. We made reservations to come back and spend our anniversary there and are very excited about that.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new home!
