WASHINGTON – The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA ) announced Thursday that federal disaster aid has been made available for the State of Georgia to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, flooding, tornadoes, and straight-line winds beginning on March 26, 2009, and continuing. . . . . .

Not sure if anyone noticed, but we had severe flooding here a couple of weeks ago.

Its the most water I've ever seen in my short life. Many houses were lost, including that of some family members. Cleaning that up was one of the worst smelling things I've ever encountered. I was helping clean up a house and found hundreds of family pictures that were completely destroyed. I'd say that was the worst thing about it.

Most of the water has receded. I've only came across two roads this week that were still under water and closed.

Anyhow, just thought i'd share.
