temp employee problem
Has anyone had any experience, when being laid off from a long term temp job, in successfully claiming that instead of contacting the temp agency for another assignment because they were not aware of that regulation, when in fact they had asked the on site manager if there was any other available work and had been told no and to go claim unemployment which was then appealed by the temp agency.

i do not understand your question. who is "they"? what regulation?
r u saying the temp agency appealed? appealed what?
maybe i am the only one who cannot figure out the question.
Georgia is an "at will" state. you can be fired, laid off for no reason. if you are a minority, you can appeal to the EEOC for assistance if you believe you have been illegally terminated.
i knew of temp workers who drew unemployment on the basis of the work ending and drew it for the allowed time. however, they were not a part of a temp agency.
i've no clue as to any regulations or rules that temp agencies have that you cannot apply for unemployment benefits. if you signed an agreement to that end, seems you are violating the terms of your agreement with the temp agency. however, you might find an atty to file a suit on your behalf if he/she believes the temp agency contract is an illegal instrument.
but again, not sure what you are asking.

temp agency
Hi
This is not an at will issue, Georgia is one of a number of states who say that a worker supplied by a temp agancy , voluntarily ceases work when an assignment ends, if they do not call the temp agency to see if there is another similar assignment available, what I was asking was has anyone defended an appeal by the agency againt payment of unemployment because they asked the on site manager if there was any available work.

i'm not sure of the temp laws either,
but i've used temp agencies before and the temporary employees were not eligible to file for unemployment against me.

Temp employees are eligible for unemployment but it is filed against the temp agency not where they worked.

I have the exact same problem I am in process of appeal and don't know what to do need help. My contract ended and I didn't know I had to
Contact temp agency about another assignment instead I talked to company manager about open position. Now temp agency is contesting
Claim for unemployment saying i quit but i then contact them later and they said my contract is complete and is available for future work
Does this mean all is good and i'll win my appeal?
