Closing GA Chrysler & Dodge Dealerships
Here's a list. Here's a link to the full list. Does anyone know if this includes any Jeep dealerships? I always regretted Jeeps not being independent anymore, but I've liked recent models. And is it just me, or did Jaguars start looking just like Taurus's after Ford bought it?
1) Augusta
2) Milledgeville
3) Dalton
4) Claxton
5) Clayton
6) Cleveland
7) Jackson
8) Newnan (2)
9) Acworth
10) Decatur
11) Savannah
12) Thomaston
I'm assuming those in Augusta and Savannah are duplicates. Columbus was also home to Bill Heard, the worlds largest GM dealer (They had several stores in several states, I forget all the stats). It went bankrupt last year. They blamed their loyalty and dependence on GM brands (they didn't diversify into Japanese brands like most dealers did).

Bill Heard's biggest mistake.....not diversifying. That's the #1 rule when investing in anything. He was on top of the world and is now hiding under a rock somewhere. Wonder who purchased his $17 million home in Green Island in Columbus?

Acworth doesn't have a Dodge/Chrysler dealership in the first place.

The list says Justin Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Acworth, GA. But if you google it, it says it's in Calhoun...? Maybe the corp office is in Acworth...?

This is precisely the right moment for Tata Motors and Hyundai Kia to take over and reign supreme. They could be scooping up these dealerships. I'm surprised we haven't heard more about that.
People still need cars. Still need to get around. If one or more of the Detroit 3 disappears then drivers will have to drive something else.

I just don't know if I could bring myself to drive something called a Tata. Kias and Hyundais are surprisingly descent cars. I don't know how the Zenn cars haven't caught on. They're revolutionary electric cars. The next big thing will be Chinese cars, probably. They've built an older version of the Hyundai Santa Fe. Hyundai sold them the rights to build the older version because they new they'd just pirate it and build it anyway.

I keep hearing about Chinese and Indian cars but don't see any action.
Now is the time for them to conquer if they are going to do anything, do it when people are more apt to buying a chinese car not when the economy rebounds and we're back at 2-3pct unemployment.

Wishful thinking... under the present administration anyway. Pretty soon MacDonalds will be importing the Big Mac from Japan after it is determined that Japanese burgers are better made than American ones.

Call me biased but I spent a year in Korea and cannot bring myself to buy a Korean car. Hyundai has made some nice looking cars and their warranty is exceptional but with all the knockoffs (pretty much whatever you wanted, they could make it) I saw for sale over there, I don't equate made in Korea...or China for that matter...w/ quality.
