Augusta has a medical college and several VA hospitals, but I don't think I would characterize it as the medical center of the southeast or even the state of Georgia. Atlanta has two medical schools (Emory and Moorehouse), and Macon has another medical school (Mercer). You may want to look into metro Atlanta... where you have emory medical center, northside hospital, centers for disease control plus numerous pharmaceutical companies. Hospitals in metro Atlanta tend to pay more
Also Gainesville, GA is looking to add a significant number of medical related jobs.. and Brenau University is looking at creating its own medical school.. so is UGA in Athens. If you are in a medical related field.. you would be well advisied to look into parts of Georgia that are growing rapidly... and that's northeast Georgia. Augusta and Macon do have great medical facilities but they are not exactly big growth areas so they will not be adding as many healthcare jobs as the fast growing areas of Georgia will. I would even say that a place like Augusta probably has a glut of healthcare workers.. which may make finding a high paying job in the field more difficult. |

Yea there are medical jobs located in Warner Robins a great place to live, but the wages arent as high as in Macon, and you don't work with as sophisticated technology like the tech at the MCCG which is only found in select Health Care Facilities around the world. Like the MCCG says World Class Care for World Class People. You could also look into working at the MCCG and living in great surrounding areas like Warner Robins, Bonaire, Lizella, or Forsyth County.
