Hmmm snow....I think that will be a Northern Georgia location. I haven't seen snow in Columbus or here in Savannah yet (just frost).

Thomasville
southern most part of Georgia- only 30+ miles from Tallahassee- you could take advantage of the explosion of homes and population that is taking place between Tallahassee and Thomasville and still have the best of both worlds. Slow down the cost of living and life style, but still have access to big city within driving distance. There is a lot of information on the net about Thomasville and this town has a lot to offer and be proud of

Warner Robins, is what I suggest homes are going up everywhere, and could be good for business, education is good, and its also one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. However, the latest snowfall was recorded in Macon, Ga and that was about 5 years ago, we are due some snow in the next couple of years, in Macon. Never heard of snowfall in Warner Robins, but its looking good for your business. You need anymore inforamtion on Warner Robins I would refer you to GP2 a memeber of this site.

thanks everyone for the input. However, can anyone give me more specifics on cities that meet my criterias. We plan to rent for about a year then purchase a new home. I would liketo know what cities are forth coming and near the necessary amenities such as shopping, restaurants, movies etc. that way the whole family will have somthing to do and not get bored. what part of the northern GA. areas get some snow. I'm not looking for much just a little sprinkle that's appears to the eye my kids would LOVE it.

We relocated from Tampa about a year ago to Dahlonega. We really love the scenary and got 7 inches of snow this year . Forsyth County is growing rapidly and Hall county is too. Alot of new homes going up in both so business would be good. Renting a home would not be a problem, Shopping is good Major mall on Dawsonville over 400 shops such as Polo, Ralph Lauren, Ann Klein, Calven Klein, Nike, Bombay, Sonoma, and many more Along with your Walmarts, Home Depots etc. Lake Lanier is about 40 minutes away so if you own a boat you could enjoy the lake stuff if not I'm sure you could find other stuff to do. The mountains are really cool alot of parks to visit, places to eat, fishing, camping and site seeing. I hope this helps. Good Luck in your decision.

Never been to the south....
My husband and I are thinking of moving to GA because of all of the teaching positions (there are none up here in Michigan). We have interviews in Covington and have found a house that we like in Covington and another one in Oxford. Any feedback about these two locations would be fabulous. We are pretty much looking for good schools, low crime rates, and we want to buy a small farm under $250,000. I would really appreciate any help!
Thanks!

I agree with "Mark My Word" 100%. Both Hall County and Dawsonville are beautiful places to live. Both are near shopping. Hall Co. is close to the Mall of GA - especially if you stay near the Buford area. On map look at Exits 8-22 off of I-985. If you stay in South Hall some of this area is zoned to go to Buford City Schools which are known for their low student/teacher ratios. They have a wonderful reputation in the area. If you choose Dawsonville. Things are a bit more spread out and the views are breath taking. Shopping and Restaraunts are plenty in both areas. Good Luck.
