Default Relocation/Traffic Info Please

Hello Folks! Thanks in advance for your input.

My fiancee and I are going to be living in GA. . .my Employer will either be located in Dunwoody or on the Galleria Parkway in Atlanta (looks to be north of the city proper). She will be going back to school at UGA. We're looking at somewhere in the Winder/Bethlehem area and I wanted to get an idea of what the commutes were like to/from Athens and to/from Dunwoody/Galleria Parkway areas.

Thank you so much!

(Also, I'm currently doing a 57 mile 1 way commute to and from work, so anything less than that will be a benefit to me!) She is OK with a commute, too. . .would like to keep it around 30-35 minutes. . .)

Thanks again!

From the 85/316 split, you're looking at 30 mins to Ashford Dunwoody exit and about another 15 minutes to the Cobb Galleria (us41 exit) via 85 & 285.
From the split to winder, it's about 15 minutes.

My estimates are for driving without traffic jams and those are likely to be severe on 285 during rush hour.

Thank you for the reply. So the bulk of the problem is going to be on 285, it seems? Is the 316 traffic either way particularly bad? Generally, what time does Rush hour begin? Is it possible to sneak around it by leaving extra early or late?

Thanks again!

You're going to hit traffic on 85 and 285- they both suck dring rush hour. If you leave the house by 5:30, you might be able to do that drive in an hour- anytime after that, you're good for an hour and a half easily.
