Columbus or Savannah may get Fortune 500 company
There is a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle that ATM-maker NCR is rumored to be moving its HQ to Georgia. It is believed that the company has looked at Savannah and Columbus for 100,000 sf of office space to house 400-500 employees. An announcement on the matter is expected this week.
This would be a HUGE economic boost for either city or Atlanta for that matter.

Great news! Definitely would be a nice addition for Columbus. That would give Columbus 2 Fortune 500 companies and one Fortune 1000. TSYS might be a Fortune 1000, not sure. Hope this happens!

According to Atlanta Constitution it is only a rumor.
They are already planning expansion in Peachtree City as of last fall.
Duluth may get it but absolutely no way Columbus would get it especially if it had to do with ATM construction/electronics as Columbus Tech made the stupid mistake of deleted their electronic tech courses many years ago.

Has absolutely nothing to do whether a company locates to a city.

A rumor is just that......a rumor.
Local Chamber confirmed this morning.
Please refrain from posting projections/possibilities/rumors as being in stone as it makes the city look like more of a failure than it already is.
Thanks!

Everything is a rumor or a possibility until it happens....do you know anything about business??? By your post on here, you seem very out of touch.

Turns out the NCR HQ and 1200 jobs will move to Duluth in Gwinnett county but there will be a new manufacturing plant in Macon that will also bring 880 jobs. Sonny Perdue will make the announcement Tuesday.

Will agree with ATL COL that you are a little touchy on this. Atlanta Business Chronicle is a reliable source. It is not far fetched that a company would check out several sites in the state.
Great news for the state wherever this goes.

NCR HQ

Macon is in a better location interstate wise with a more trained workforce than Columbus and makes good sense for NCR.
Duluth of course is a no brainer as they have been there for years.
Glad I am not a developer...!
