Talking Rent a HOUSE in Albany, GA

Hi...we are moving from Virginia Beach, VA to Albany, GA the first week of next month. We are a Marine Corps family with a small Pug dog. We are NOT interested in renting an apartment (yes, I did a search) and I'm hoping that someone might have information oh where I might be able to find more rental property listings in the Albany area. We are specifically looking at Lee County because we've been told that Lee County schools are better than those in Albany. I've looked at the Albany Herald (online) and it seems to me that the same ads run over and over again. If you have any information or if you know someone who may be looking to rent their property to people who will take care of it, please let me know!

Thank you!

Jenna

Hey Jenna,

There is one nice neighborhood in the city of Albany that I would recommend and that would be Lake Park (Northwest Albany).. it has the nicest elementary school by far, Lake Park Elementary. If you are able to afford private schools I would go for that, Deefield-Windsor is an great private school system.

Lee County has excellent schools and is a very safe county, unlike a lot of parts of Albany (especially East and Central Albany). There are several different subdivisions and housing options within minutes of Albany, so the commute to the MCLB wouldn't be an issue at all.

Try this website, I'm sure they will have info. on rental properties.

There are a couple of property management companies that have lots of houses, apartments, etc...Some will fax you listings they have. Keep in mind that if you stay within the 31707 and the 31763 zip codes, usually (but not always) that is a good indication of where you might want to be. (NW Albany & Lee County respectively.)

1. B & B rental agency - 605 Pine Avenue - Albany GA 229-435-5216

2. Hughey & Newman - 532 N. Westover Blvd - Albany GA 229-436-0212

3. Walden & Kirkland Rental Dept (They are also also Real Estate Agents)
601 N. Slappey Blvd - Albany GA 229-446-9985

Hope this helps!

I have already contacted Good Life Realty there...Carrie there is looking for rental houses for us as well. What is frustrating me is that there seems to be very few who utilize the internet to its full advantage (I found the house we live in here via Craigslist).

Thank you for the recommendations!
