Yes, I am in the KB home. Honestly, I really haven't had any major problems. Just a few cosmetic stuff. They have to replace carpet in one of the rooms. So far so good. The house actually turned out really nice. Getting there is the problem. It was so stressful.

Every person I have ever talked to about building a home from very cheap trac home to very expensive custom job has talked about the stress involved in the building process. If you don't mind me asking - what price range were you building in? Also - what part of the country?

Good to know. I am currently in the market for one right at about $300K. What community are you in? I have relatives that live in Atlanta - haven't been there in a while.

If your buying KB buyer beware. I definately would use a realtor. Hire an inspector. I would not close till all my repairs were done. I would watch to see what kind of people are moving into the neighborhood. I have not seen the kind of home quailty KB is capable of building. I have had a lot of enviromental issues with KB also. They don't seem to be cautious about how they effect their surrounding areas. They seem to be a more throw them up tract builder and they will sell. Just my opinion from what I have seen...Bill

I am not a KB home owner but it is important to know whether you buy a old house or a new house always get an inspecter. I live in NY and we have a lot of new homes building every where these contrectors can find space it is horrible. We as customers should always be involved in what these contracters are doing and although it can be more money get an expert to make sure what they are doing is correct. I really dont think it matters who buys its just making sure you do your research. In new york a lot of these big companies look for day labores because they can pay them cheaper so a lot of time you dont get quality work so just be aware I to am looking to move to Georgia so this is just a heads up for me when I go to buid my home.

Custom builders use day laborers as well. A sub contractor is a sub contractor no matter what the builder is like. True high quality subs are far and few between. The key is having an inspector - during the build process.

I am in the Wynchase Subdivision in Woodstock. It's the Martha Stewart neighborhood. I imagine it's a better quality subdivision since her name is on it and her people come down.

Yes, get an inspector eventhough mine said he was impressed because normally KB homes are built like crap. I think what helped us is I went out to the house almost every other day and stayed on top of the builders. The sub contractors were awful. What happened to taking pride in your work?
